We will be in Madrid for New Year’s Eve and Day — I have seen articles about what is open/not open for New Year’s Eve — But what would you say about New Year’s Day? Are there many available restaurants, etc? I would imagine that museums, etc are not.
We are wondering now if we should make this a travel day between cities if many/most things will not be open. Are the fast trains running on New Year’s Day? thank you so much!

Easy to use from airport to city too. Love the tapas and sangria. Recommend a simple day trip to Toledo about an hour south via train.
