If you have kids, or are a fan, the Pikachu centre in Osaka is worth a trip to pick up some presents! Said to be the best one in Japan, it’s Located in Umeda at the top of the Daimaru department store. They do some stuff that is limited to the store so you can pick up some stuff none of their friends will have.

I can’t believe I have just said that. If it wasn’t fishy, it tasted like it was fishy! Completely my own fault as I don’t like fish. The meat offerings weren’t a amazing, grizzle and giblets were actually menu items!! Food aside, I’ve been to a lot of Asian countries and love them but Japan didn’t hit the spot for me.

The breakfast and lounge at the Kobe Bay Sheraton were pretty good. Best shower of my life, had stayed two nights at the Chungking Mansion in Hong Kong and it was probably the worst place I’ve stayed in my life, couldn’t wait to wash it off me!

The Hilton, across from the main station, was fabulous. We had just dodged a major typhoon and the bullet train was shut down but were lucky to have friends who.lived there and showed us around Kyoto. Osaka is beautiful and so friendly. We fell in love with Japan and hope to get back some day when we have more time to spend there.

People fly in from all over the world to dine here.

Even for a Japanese person like myself, there are some great little eateries in Osaka that are quite tricky to get it in, let alone foreigners, and info is quite a scarce even in this day and age, fortunately.
