It’s quite pricey, but its combination of multi-cultural sophisticated cosmopolitanism and laid back beach town is almost unique in the world – like a safer and smaller Rio de Janeiro.

But itโ€™s pretty amazing you got to cover so much on your first visit and in only 48 hours.

They kept on questioning me why I was there such a short period of time. They didn’t appreciate that it was an award ticket and might not have even known that that was. They wanted to me to strip to my underwear partly (trousers pulled down but not taken off). I played a mind game with them asking if they wanted to look inside my shoe. That was before the shoe bomber. They said no and ended the search then.
